Meet Kalin Akin: Atlanta, Chattanooga, Pensacola

Kalin Akin / Artist introduction

Atlanta.
Chattanooga.
Pensacola.

Get to know Kalin Akin — his Georgia roots, the life behind the music, and the songs he is sharing today.

Meet Kalin Akin

Kalin Akin grew up in Conyers, Georgia. His upbringing included time in foster care and group homes, and his grandparents helped raise him. Those experiences are part of the personal history he has chosen to share with listeners getting to know the person behind the music.

At 19, Kalin lost his mother. He has also experienced the loss of the grandparents who helped raise him. Alongside those family experiences, his working life has included serving jobs. These are parts of his story beyond the artist name: family, work, and the different places he has called home.

His life has taken him to Chattanooga, Tennessee, while he has held on to his Atlanta roots. He now lives in Pensacola and is engaged. When describing himself, Kalin keeps two things simple: he loves music, and he loves life.

He describes his sound as Atlanta melodic trap with Pensacola beach vibes. Kalin also runs a local studio, 850 Studioz, and an insurance agency. Listeners can explore his current music on Spotify and follow his official social profiles for updates.

“Thank God for the Day” is available on SoundCloud, with its wider streaming release planned for October 15, 2026. This blog brings together his artist introduction, release announcements, and links to the music.

Behind the music

Looking back on his studio work, Kalin recalls helping Teddy Swims find his musical direction and frequently recording Nebu Kiniza with Jacob Gaddis. These memories are part of Kalin’s own account of his experience working with other artists.
